Acura Shows 2003-2007

             I started showing in 2003 after attending as a spectator at Import Expo in 2002 in Houston, TX. I was always interested in showing my car and winning trophy’s money and fame. Well I got two out of the three. I showed the most of the 2003 season then 2004-2009.  Click each picture for a slide show of the event.

             My first show car that I built up was my 1998 Civic EX I did not show this car, but rather just practiced modifying, updating and customizing the car.  I did a pretty good job too because I sold the car for 12K in 2002 for my 2002 Acura RSX Type S. This car I built up and showed from 2003-2006 and ended up winning a bunch of shows and earning some extra money. I learned quite a bit about the RSX and now I am somewhat of an expert on just about anything on the car. 

             The shows started ending around 2005 there was not much to show at but I did a attend a few smaller shows ending in 2007 the last one at my office at Mustang Engineering. 

             One day coming home from getting the RSX inspected in late 2007 a kid with no license and no insurance hit my RSX at an intersection then tried to claim it wasn’t his fault.  His parents said they would pay to keep off insurance, but they lied I had to get my insurance company to go after them. Ended up with my insurance paying with under insured motorist. Week later the same kid ran another light  and tried to pull out in front of me again I was in my truck this time and he stopped and pulled back before he got hit. I called the police because the kid was driving again no insurance not license.

             In 2008 I sold my Acura RSX and bought a Saturn Sky Redline check out my Sky page. I have been working on this car and building it up for show. Showed the Sky at my office car show and at Import Face off in Baytown. No awards, winnings even a mention. Strange since my car is in a class of it’s own.  The Sky is no longer being made and even the company Saturn has now been closed early when the deal with Penske fell through.  I believe there are only 35K Saturn Sky’s and even fewer Redlines models. So it may be a collector car here in the future.
